Geil and Berner starts labelling in August, where the annual growth of trees is about to end.
Labelling of the trees is done by our own people, either with Geil and Berner’s own labels or with the customer’s labels.
Labelling is essential for the customer’s insurance of the quality of the trees. The labelling is aligned to customer wishes and ensures that the customer gets the right trees in the correct size and quality.
To ensure freshness and quality, our cutting of the Christmas trees is based on a forestry strategy; That is, we cut with chainsaws, make a straight cut and brush off the trunk.
In addition, Geil and Berner attempts to ensure freshness guarantee by cutting the customer’s trees as close as possible to the delivery date.
Geil and Berner’s trees are individually wrapped in net to protect the trees as well as to facilitate palletization, transport and further handling. Geil and Berner uses tight knitted net, so that the trees are not damaged during handling and transportation.
We use net in sizes Ø19-45 and based on individual assessment, the trees are packaged in the appropriate net size.
The trees are packed on packing machines in the culture. Then the trees are shipped by truck on pallets. Generally, all items are packed on Compac pallets measuring 260 x 120 x 240 cm (WxDxH). Here we can pack from 65 to 275 pieces per pallet.
